June favourites 2015

Hi guys ☺

I love reading these posts so I am hoping to keep doing them monthly but no doubt once I've had the baby this list will be mostly baby things ☺

Revlon colorstay foundation for oily skin

This may have been in my last monthly favourites but I was feeling lazy while writing this and didn't check 😀
I have this in the colour buff chamois which is a perfect match for my skin. The formula is thicker than I remember from years ago when I was obsessed with it but I actually like it that way. The packaging is quite nice, it comes in a glass bottle which allows you to see the exact colour of foundation you're getting as well as how much you have left, with a black lid. The lid is slightly different on the bottles for the normal /dry formula but I prefer this one. I personally think it's quite classy for a drugstore foundation bottle but it doesn't come with a pump so you have to be more careful that you don't pour out more product than you actually need, if revlon were lovely and put a pump on it I think it would be my favourite makeup product ever!
I have been using it without a primer lately and it genuinely lasts all day, it is a high coverage foundation which is what I tend to go for, and doesn't look cakey or too thick if you apply it with a brush (I use the real techniques buffing brush).
I have more high end foundations such as estee lauder double wear foundation and chanel vita lumiere but I genuinely prefer this one for the more everyday look and at only £12ish it is well worth a try!

Clinique take the day off balm

I got this a while ago but when I fell pregnant I stopped using it as I didn't like the smell. Before I was pregnant I didn't think it had a smell but it seemed to develop a minty smell which I hated.
The packaging of this product is super cute, it's a purple tub with silver writing and a silver lid which I, personally, think makes it look gorgeous and high end.
The product itself is a white solid balm that seems to melt when you touch it, and is quite oily when applied but not overly oily.
To use it I use my fingers to get a small amount, and rub it gently all over my face including my eyes. It does feel a bit weird applying an oily product to my face as I have always suffered from excess oil but this seems to actually improve my skin. I use a warm damp face cloth to wash the product off my face and leave it feeling super smooth and clean. This product literally melts makeup off your face, it turns a bit creamy when mixed with water which is why I use a face cloth.
I love this product as it is super easy and quick to use, I would go as far as to say it is as quick as using micellar water which will be perfect for me when the baby comes and I don't have much time to remove makeup or even wash my face properly.
I can't remember how much I actually paid for this but it is probably quite expensive so won't be for everyone, but only a very tiny amount is used each time so the tub will last ages. I used it for a about four months before I got pregnant, took it on holiday with me, and have used it again now and still have nearly a full tub of it so it is very good value for money.

Clinique cleansing face brush

Again, I got this ages ago, I think I got this a few months before I went to Mexico (which I went to October last year) but again stopped using it when I became ill during my first trimester as I didn't have the energy to wash my face for a little while (I did wash by the way just not as thoroughly as previously). JJ recently found this in a bag and told me to start using it again as he had paid £79 for it and didn't want it to be a waste of money, and I'm glad he did as I love it again.
It's basically a cleansing brush with green bristles for the forehead chin and nose and white bristles for the cheeks. The brush vibrates which allows it to clean the skin more thoroughly. It is set on a timer which goes off after 30 seconds, and it comes with instructions that show you how to use it which is perfect.
After using it for a few months last year my skin was the best it had ever been, clear and smooth, and although I have only been using this for about 3 days this month my skin is already better (although this could be hormones).

Lindt white chocolate

Has anyone else been given one of those massive plastic balls filled with lindt chocolate every year for Christmas?I have and it's something I look forward to every year so when I went to York designer outlet last weekend I got a bit overly excited to find out there was a pick n mix! It wasn't the cheapest but it was worth it so I got a few coconut ones, the original ones, one hazelnut and a couple of white chocolate ones and oh my word the white chocolate sweets are things dreams are made of! White chocolate is generally my favourite kind, but some companies get it horribly wrong and it ends up being too sickly, but lindt have it just right ☺ it is perfectly creamy and gorgeous so if anyone is thinking of getting a lindt pick n mix give the white chocolate a chance.

Chocolate milk

I have become slightly addicted to this over the past few weeks as it tastes amazing and helps with my heartburn ☺

Costa peach lemonade

This is another thing that I have become addicted to but unfortunately JJ won't go into town every day just to get me it despite him loving it too! It is the perfect drink for the summer, so cool and refreshing! I feel like I should point out its not fizzy like lemonade (my sister tried one and text me saying 'omg why would you drink this its not even fizzy ) but honestly I prefer it that way!!

Strike back

This is a tv series based on the book by Chris Ryan.  I feel like I should point out that I LOVE Chris Ryan and his books so it's understandable that I also love this show! For those of you who don't know, Chris Ryan was in the SAS  (swoon) and now writes fiction, I think a lot of his books are based on things he went through but loosely based if that makes sense. Anyway, if you like shows about spies and MI6 etc you will probably love this!!I'm currently on season 2, the complete seasons 1-4 are currently available on sky boxsets.
The only thing I don't like about this is the amount of women's boobs present, I'm pretty sure the show would be just as good without all of the sex and half nakedness (although I probably wouldn't be complaining if we got to see the fit soldier naked too 😛).

Quiz up

I discovered this app after someone tweeted about it and I have become addicted!I'm not going to lie and say that I do the general knowledge quiz that often or anything like that, it is all about the Disney movie quiz for me (so far I've only lost a couple of times!) But it's so fun! I don't even mind when I have lost the quiz I just love flaunting my Disney knowledge ☺
If you don't know what this is, it is an app of quizzes on certain subjects, there's probably one for everyone, and you play against someone online. The app looks for people on the same quiz as you and basically pairs you up for a match, there's 7 questions altogether and at the end of the match you can choose to play against the same opponent again or leave that match and find someone else. It probably doesn't sound that good the way I describe it but trust me it's fab! I've convinced my sister and JJ to get it so I can challenge them all of the time (although my sister just keeps challenging me to maths quizzes!).

What are your favourite things this month?

38 weeks update

Hi ☺

Had my last antenatal appointment this week (for some reason I thought that I had more, I thought that everyone had weekly appointments from 37 weeks till birth but that's it). The baby is 3/5 palpable (2/5 engaged) still, but I swear baby moves further down when I'm walking!
My blood pressure and pulse were fine, and although my haemoglobin is slightly low it is normal for me (my midwife a couple weeks ago said I was slightly anaemic but when I looked at my own results everything was fine....the plus points of being a biomedical scientist ☺).
My bump measured fine, even though it seems to have increased in size a lot over this week! And I have stretch marks now which I'm gutted about! They are on the bottom of the bump though so I can't see them, poor JJ can though and although he says he still finds me attractive he does keep telling me to put bio oil on to get rid of them!
I still keep getting bad back ache and worse pains in my abdomen but they haven't amounted to anything yet even though JJ  keeps trying to bribe the baby to come out this week so we can go to Liverpool next week!
I am finding it harder to walk now, but it is uncomfortable to drive too so I'm in a lose lose situation! We walked to the doctors surgery, then to town then home two days ago and I was in agony by the time I got home!! Yesterday was even worse even though I walked less, I walked to the hospital to meet B for lunch, and walked home then went shopping and my back was in agony! I know that this is normal and every pregnant woman goes through this but I thought I would mention it anyway ☺
I have started to be sick again on a morning which I am gutted about but again this is apparently normal for this time in pregnancy because of the hormonal changes.
I have also started leaking from my boobs more which at first made me feel disgusting but now I've realised it's just normal and natural!
As we haven't had a tour of the labour ward yet (I have been there through work but JJ hasnt) we are going to try and go to their 2 hour tour on Monday where we will get shown around the ward and be able to ask any questions etc. I actually can't wait as I think it will make both me and JJ feel better if we hear about labour and what it's like as none of my midwives have really wanted to talk about it and we haven't been to any antenatal classes because I couldn't get time off work.

Have any of you experienced these things?

Hillarys blinds...an update

Hi ☺

So as you will know if you regularly read my blog, we finally decided to get some blinds in the house! We have floor to ceiling windows so blinds were definitely required!!
After a few quotes from a few companies we decided to go with hillarys as they seemed the most professional on the day.
Since I wrote that post we received samples in the post of the blinds we were thinking of getting...This was before we had even agreed to go with them!I thought this was such a good idea and I was very very impressed with the company for doing this, especially as we could see and feel the quality for ourselves and take the samples with us when deciding on what colours to paint the rooms!
None of the other companies we got quotes from did this!

Has anyone else got blinds from hillarys? If so, what did you think of the service?

Perfect summer drinks from Costa coffee

Hi ☺

I don't go into costa coffee a lot as I don't drink coffee and since being pregnant I can't have hot chocolate as I'm sick straight after, but today I have been in twice and had two of the most gorgeous drinks I've ever had!

The first I got while walking to my antenatal appointment as I needed to cool down, and so I got the tropical fruit ice cooler. I did want the peach lemonade but the shop I went to didn't have it yet! I got a small cup for £2.90 which does seem a bit expensive but was worth it as it took me ages to drink!
To be honest all I could taste was pineapple but it was gorgeous, and so refreshing!I think they make it by mixing tropical juice with ice (I'm probably wrong but it is definitely made with ice) so is perfect for a hot summers day!

The second shop we went into I managed to get the peach lemonade. I'm not sure how much this cost as it was JJ who bought it and we got a medium one to share (he had the most!). This is a peachy colour (obviously...I'm not sure what I was expecting! ) and again came over ice. I'm not sure how to describe this other than it didn't have a strong peach taste, it was the perfect amount of peach and lemon mixed together. JJ absolutely loved it and I was lucky to get any at all! This is very unusual for him as he usually doesn't even try new things! Again this was a very refreshing drink and perfect for the summer!! I love peach drinks and homemade type lemonade so combining the two was a genius move so well done costa! I'm sure I will be visiting again very soon!!

Have you tried these drinks?what did you think of them? Or do you have any other drinks perfect for the summer?

Finally getting blinds!!

Hi ☺

If any of you have bought a brand new house (or just moved into a house and wanted to change the decor and blinds etc) you will know how much everything costs! Just over a year ago I bought a new build house (thanks dad for the deposit!) which came with no blinds or curtains or light shades etc (obviously as it was brand new) and had no grass in the garden or anything. Fast forward a year and I still don't have any blinds or grass in the garden...but hopefully that's all about to change!
I would like to point out that this isn't me being really lazy or not wanting to spend money, I had no furniture before moving so had to buy everything from new which costs a lot of money, and I got married and got pregnant which costs a lot too! It does embarrass me when my family come to stay (I haven't had any friends over yet) and they see that we have no blinds etc and the garden is a mess but I just haven't had the money to sort it out.

Anyway, as we are now nearing the end of my pregnancy, I really want everything sorted out! We organised a few people to come round to give us quotes for the blinds, and after a very difficult decision we have decided to go with someone from hillarys blinds. They weren't the cheapest quote, but the man that came round, Paul, was so lovely and talked through the best options for each window. Two of the rooms have floor to ceiling windows, which was obviously going to make blind shopping a bit more complicated than it normally would be, and we have decided to get wood effect venetian blinds in grey so that when they are closed they match the windows from the outside. The other two windows are normal sized and at the back of the house which no one sees, and are the main bedroom and the baby's room so we have opted for blackout blinds.
I didn't know you could get designs on blackout blinds but apparently you can! So we have gone for plain grey in our bedroom (to match the furniture) and we have very colourful polka dot blinds in the babys room as it will match anything that we put in there and will look so cute. I did want bears or butterflies as we saw them with one company but unfortunately hillarys didn't offer this.

We have been told that the blinds will probably be fitted near the end of July so I am going to do a post all about hillarys blinds, the service we received and the quality of the end product when they are installed ☺

37 weeks update

Hi ☺

Not much has actually changed since last week other than I am getting more frequent braxton hicks contractions now...bit scary until I realised what it actually was!then I just felt silly for not realising sooner 😂
I have been having a lot of back ache and twinges in my abdomen, at one point I thought I was going to go into labour that night but it was all just normal twinges and nothing to get excited about! Now that I am officially full term every slight twinge or ache makes me hope it means the baby is coming soon and as embarrassing as it is I have Googled everything just to check it's all normal!! I am hoping I am not the only first time mother to do this? ☺
I have been feeling more hungry lately, but then also more nauseous (though have only thrown up once so far!!) And I may have finally had cravings if ice cream and chocolate milk count 😉🐷

I have been getting extremely tired this week and have been having little naps in the afternoon, but then I have trouble sleeping through the night due to frequent toilet trips and JJ coming to bed about 4 hours after me and waking me up!

I think we have everything we need for when the baby arrives now, we need to make sure the car seat fits in the car (which it should as it's actually mentioned in the cars official handbook thing) and I still need to pack my maternity bag...but anything else we have forgotten we can get once the baby arrives ☺

I finally convinced JJ that we need blinds in the house for when the baby arrives (we have lived here just over a year and have nothing covering the windows which are floor to ceiling as JJ didn't want any blinds or curtains!!) So we had someone out yesterday to give us a quote and someone is coming out tomorrow for a quote so hopefully we will get it all sorted soon! We are getting blackout blinds in the baby's room and our room (for when the baby sleeps in our room/ when I go back to work and have to work a night shift) and I hadn't realised blackout blinds came in patterns as well as plain so we have chosen a gorgeous design for the baby's room!!

I am so excited and getting very impatient to meet the baby now but I have been told that this is the part of the pregnancy that drags the most and apparently most first timers go over their due date but I am hoping baby comes a little early!

What were you like at 37 weeks?

Baby essentials: changing

Hi ☺

Again I would like to point out that I am.a first time mam (still pregnant) and so don't actually know what I'm doing but thought I would share what I have so far.

🍼nappies- this is an obvious one I think! We have lots and lots of nappies, size 1, 2 and 3 as they were on offer and we weren't sure how big the baby is going to be so thought it would be better to get both size 1 and 2 just incase the baby didn't fit size 1. We are only getting pampers for now as it is a brand that I trust, when I used to babysit my auntys foster babies she always used pampers and whenever I've had little cousins being born they all used pampers so it is a brand I have grown up with (my mam used reusable nappies on me and my sister and I didn't want to do that! ). I have put some nappies in the changing unit but as there are so many I've left a lot of them in boxes in the baby wardrobe ready for when we need them!

🍼baby wipes- we also have a lot of these!!We have a few pampers wipes but the majority of what we have is from the little angels range from asda as quite a few people have told us that they are better than all of the other brands!they are always on offer too so you get loads of wipes for not much money. Again I have got a whole drawer full of wipes and some in the wardrobes too as we have been told that we will go through loads of these.

🍼tommee tippee sangenic nappy pale - we got this because it seemed like a good idea at the time. Apparently each casette holds 28 nappies and individually wraps each one so that they don't smell. I'm not going to lie, I am a bit lazy so not having to go outside to throw a nappy away every time I change the baby seems like a good idea now but as we haven't used it yet I will let you all know whether it does its job or not.

🍼changing mat- we have 2 travel changing mats (they both came free with changing bags) and a changing mat for the house. We actually paid about £15 for it which doesn't seem like much but there are changing mats for about a fiver but JJ wanted one that would go with the room (I wanted a tatty teddy one) as he didn't want it to look out of place apparently.

🍼changing unit- this was part of our furniture set and is just a chest of drawers with a bit on the top to change the baby on. We have the nappies and wipes etc in the drawers and the changing mat on the top. This is a really good idea as it is convenient to use and looks pretty, and means I don't have to change the baby on the floor.

🍼sudocrem - nappy cream is another obvious one. I have been told that the aqueous cream in home bargains is exactly the same and only costs £1 but JJ wanted sudocrem as he didn't trust the alternative (but a load of people I know use the one from home bargains and say it's fine so if you aren't bothered by brand names it might be worth having a look). We haven't decided yet whether or not to give the new sudocrem a go, the one that's meant to be kinder to skin, as the original has always seemed fine to me.

🍼 we haven't gone for cotton balls or pads as his cousin did and after a couple of days switched to the little angels wipes as apparently the cotton balls just weren't up to the job and were messy. I do take advice from people who have recently had kids as they will know a lot more than me so we decided to take her word for it and just get wipes.

Is there anything we have forgot or things you would recommend?

Books I am taking into hospital

Hi ☺

After reading a lot of stories about labour etc and advice on what to take to hospital I have decided to take some books (or my kindle) to the hospital with me/ also to read at home while in labour just in case it takes a while.
So here is a list of the books I think I am going to take with me (probably not all of them but it's best to prepare):

📚 Peter kay autobiographies-
Both the sound of music and his second one (both of which I have borrowed from my sister) as they are hilarious and I think that reading comedy books will help to relax me and ease my panic a little bit.

📚 miranda hart is it just me-
For the same reason as the books above, I love miranda and despite reading this book a few times already, I still find it hilarious and actually laugh out loud in parts so this should be okay to relax me.

📚 sophie kinsella
Any of her books, I haven't chosen one specifically yet but I love how humorous and light hearted all of her books are, and while in labour I am not going to want to read a book with a complicated storyline that makes me need to concentrate hard on it. I don't think that I will be able to fully concentrate on much so books like the da vinci code etc wouldn't be a good idea for me! It will be comedy and chick lit ☺

Did you take anything to read while you were in labour? Or take anything else to keep you occupied?

Maternity leave and my hormonal thoughts

I have been on maternity leave for a week now and not only have I missed work (I never thought I would say that!) But I have also been feeling a bit lonely and neglected.
I miss seeing my friends at work and often if I text them they are too busy to reply so I did feel like I was being forgotten about for the first few days (I know how silly that is it was just my hormonal state) and I did wish that I had stayed at work a bit longer!
But while I have been off we have managed to visit JJs family and friends in Liverpool, tidy the entire house and put the baby next to me crib up in our bedroom and get everything else sorted for the baby's arrival ☺
I do have another few weeks before the baby is due and I feel like I might get bored really easily but I am hoping that my friends from work will make plans with me when they can

What did you all do while waiting for the baby to arrive and did you ever feel left out or neglected by people from work?

36 weeks update

Hi ☺

So I haven't done an update in a while, and I felt bad about it so thought I would do a quick 36 week update.

I am officially on maternity leave as I was on my feet all day at work and it was starting to really hurt and be uncomfortable so I thought it best to start maternity leave so I can rest.

A bit tmi but I have now discovered the horror that is piles!I thought I was one of the lucky ones that missed out on them but as soon as the baby became engaged they appeared! They aren't actually painful though which is good.

I still don't have stretch marks on my bump which I am super happy about!and my bump is still perfectly round but a bit lower than it has been and I haven't changed shape anywhere else ☺

I have been experiencing constant back ache for about 4 days, and it does hurt me when the baby kicks me now but I still love it as it means my baby is still active. I have also been having hot flushes which makes me feel sick!but I think that is partly due to the hot weather we have been having.

That's pretty much everything that has happened in the last few weeks  ☺ I did get a necklace that I mentioned in a previous post for doing well in the pregnancy and not complaining much and I also got a rose gold and pink Michael kors watch for doing well ☺

How have you all been doing.

Baby shower

When I had decided what day I wanted to be my last day at work before maternity, I started to think about having a meal (not a baby shower) to celebrate having 10 months off. B,however, had different ideas and took over the planning of it and it became a baby shower!
I had it yesterday and 15 people from work came (it doesn't sound a lot but I had only invited the people I wanted there and B invited a couple of other people but some had to work and some I just didn't want there). We had it at a pub that does amazing food and everyone met at 7pm.
The table was set out with cute balloons, and sequins and glitter...It actually looked amazing!
I had already had my presents from work, but there were more cards and a couple more presents to open (a cardigan, mitts and boots, and a dumbo baby set), and one of the cards was handmade by my colleague and was AMAZING!!it was such a lovely personal touch that was so unexpected!

The meal itself was amazing, as it was in a pub there was mostly burgers and ham hock etc and a few of the lads had a bit of a eating competition as the portions are known for being massive! Three of the lads got an anchor burger which was 2 beef burgers, a chicken burger, 6 onion rings, cheese, bacon, chicken wings and fries!they were gigantic although two of then did manage to eat it all! Two of the lads got the ham hock which was also gigantic and only one managed to eat it all, although the other one was very upset with himself that he couldn't manage it!!

I got pan fried chicken supreme which was a large piece of chicken in a gravy, with potato fondant, green beans and pea and garlic mash. It was absolutely gorgeous although I didn't manage to eat it all as despite being the smallest thing there it was still too much for me!

Em had baked brownie cupcakes for everyone with icing and little baby feet and flowers on the top which I also wasn't expecting but was super cute!! They were delicious and I even brought some home with me! A few people also had dessert but most of us were just too full!

A few people left after the meal and I got hugs off everyone leaving then which was nice, but a few of us stayed a bit longer and they all tried out all of the cocktails (I was a bit jealous!). We ended up leaving at about half 11, as I was knackered and B was taking me home but we left a few people there to carry on drinking.

All in all it was ana amazing night and I was pleasantly surprised with how many people came and how much fun we all had! I am a bit gutted that I won't see some of them again (as they are locums and won't be there in 10 months time) and won't see some of them for 10 months, but I will try to keep in touch with them all!

What was your baby shower like?

💖 xx

Ps there will be pictures when B sends me them as she had a 'proper' camera with her and was taking pictures of everything ☺

Pregnancy and why I love it

I read an article/blog post yesterday about one woman being 'honest ' about pregnancy and parenting, and it made me a little angry. She started off by saying she was going to tell other women what it's really like, and then just talked about the bad things like not being able to drink wine, and how painful labour is etc. And then said but it's all worth it isn't it? But said it in a way that made me doubt that she actually believed it, it was even mentioned that her friends and family had offered to help out but disappeared after the first couple of weeks.

So I thought I would do my own little post about pregnancy (I haven't given birth yet so the labour part will come later).
As most of you will know I haven't had an 'easy' pregnancy in that I have been very ill with sickness throughout the whole pregnancy, and I've been through a lot of stress etc but I still wouldn't change anything.

Despite being sick every morning and throughout the day, nothing beats the feeling I get when my baby kicks or moves,it fills me with so much love already and I genuinely can't help but smile. I find myself talking to the baby bump throughout the day, explaining what I'm doing and even telling the baby how much I love when it kicks me ☺
I love knowing that when I drink orange juice or have ice cream the baby will do somersaults (well that's what it feels like anyway). I love that the baby will kick me for ages but as soon as I tell someone to feel, the baby will immediately stop kicking until the person has removed their hand from my bump.
I love watching my tummy move with the baby kicks, and I have been known to record it and send it to my friends (who lovingly reply saying how cute it is rather than tell me how weird I am!).
Even though when the baby kicks me in the ribs it really hurts me now, I love knowing that as soon as I get in a car the baby will start kicking me in the ribs.
I know most of the things I have mentioned here are to do with the baby moving and kicking but it's the thing I've experienced the most and each time it makes me fall in love that little bit more.

I know every woman is different, and I have moaned about how bad I've had it but I genuinely think it is still the most amazing thing in the world and I am so happy that I have been able to experience it.

Liverpool

Hi guys ☺

This is a bit of a 'what I did with my weekend' post rather than anything helpful but I thought I'd write it anyway ☺

As some of you know, I am married to a scouser so every now and again we make the long drive (okay it's not actually that long, it takes half an hour less than it does to get to where I'm from, but when you're 35 weeks pregnant and your husband can't drive and people are being annoying on the m62 it feels like forever) to liver pool and that's what we did this weekend.
We left ours at about 8am and got to Liverpool for about half 9, I'm not going to lie the first stop we made was to get me some breakfast from macdonalds and for a much needed toilet break! Apparently baby can sense when I'm not going to be able to go to the toilet and takes great pleasure in kicking me in the bladder for the entire journey! The baby also does not like the seat belt and likes to kick that too 😂
We visited my cousin in law at her stall in st John's market, and she gave us another little present for the baby (a super cute tatty ted saying baby on board for the car (JJ actually said to me is that deffo for the car then?I'm not going to lie, my response was a rather sarcastic 'no I stick it to the front of my bump until I give birth' )). We did a little bit of shopping but then JJ wanted to meet up with his mate but without me, so I bought a few magazines and went and sat in costa with a Belgian chocolate cooler- I didn't like this drink!but baby doesn't like hot chocolate and I don't like coffee so there wasn't much choice available. We agreed that he could have an hour with his mate then come back and get me, 2 hours later I still hadn't heard from him and his phone was off so I genuinely sat there by myself like a lose for an hour and a half longer than I should have. I probably could have left and gone for a wander but as I couldn't get in touch with him I didn't know how we would find each other 😐
Luckily my sister rang me so I chatted to her for about an hour, and then spoke to my mam ☺
JJ and his mate finally turned up and told me that they had decided to go for a meal tonight and we had to book a hotel. I pointed out we didn't have deodorant or toothbrushes or makeup (for me not him obviously ) so JJ said we could buy some and we had to stay so £100 later we had a hotel booked and I had the essentials (foundation, mascara, blusher, eyebrow pencil, brushes and a tangle teezer ).
We ended up not going out with his mate (his mate cancelled) so we stayed in and had room service, it was nice to have someone else make me food!
We got back home about 11am Sunday morning after a pleasant drive in the sun, and JJ took the makeup back to boots so at least we didn't waste money on that (although I did keep the tangle teezer!).

Next weekend we are off to my home city and I can't wait!!

What did you do with your weekend?

A little apology and a change to my blog

Hi ☺

When I first started writing my blog I had very high hopes about what I was going to do with it and how often I was going to write for it. Unfortunately, life happened (I know I have only had my blog a couple of months) and I haven't been able to do as much as I had hoped that I would.
I feel really bad that in the past few weeks I haven't been as present on my blog or twitter as I would have liked so firstly I am going to apologise for that and hope you all understand, and secondly I am going to change my initial plans.
I did plan to upload a post three times a week but currently I am only managing one, so rather than feel guilty about letting you all down I have decided to only promise one post a week which I will upload on a Monday. If I have more time and energy later on I will hopefully write more ☺

Love you all

Things to do before I'm 30

Hi ☺

I was watching everybody loves Raymond while getting ready for work this morning (because yes, I am that cool) and they were talking about things they had wanted to do before turning 30 and it got me thinking, so here are some things I want to do ☺

💖 see the northern lights- I have always wanted to do this but for some reason have never got round to it!I actually want to go to Iceland and stay in one of those see through tent things that are about £1000 a night but I'd settle for Norway 😛

💖 Take the baby to Disneyland florida- this might not happen in the next 5 years as I want the baby to remember it but I remember loving going when I was younger so it is somewhere I want to take my child.

💖 Go skydiving- I think this would be a really exhilarating experience and I would love to give it a go, if I did I would do it for charity though! Might as well make it be for a good cause!

💖 See Michael Mcintyre live- I know this is a bit of a lame one but I really want to see him live! I had the opportunity to meet him and get his autograph a few years ago when I still lived at home and I walked past him in the city centre (he was playing at the empire) but I didn't know who he was at the time so didn't! The shame!

💖 Go scuba diving in the great barrier reef- this is something I have wanted to do since I was a child as I think it would be amazing! The colours and the amazing fish you see would just be out of this world!!

💖 Go skiing- I had the chance when I was at school but my parents wouldn't let me go because my sister's friend broke her ankle when she went, but it looks great fun and loads of people I know go skiing every year and love it!

💖 Run the great north run- I would need to train so hard for this but again it is something I would love to do for charity.

💖 stay at the galgorm in Ireland- I went there for a wedding a couple of years ago and it is such an amazing place, I was going to stay there for a weekend a few months ago but we ended up spending the money on something for the baby instead!

that's all I can think of at the minute, I'm sure there's more so I may add to it!

What are the things you want to do before you reach a certain age?
